Drawing from Newfoundland folk roots and contemporary jazz influences, Jessica Spurrell is an award-winning singer-songwriter and instrumentalist. She is inspired by music that layers intricate, through-composed parts with thoughtful lyrics. Her debut EP, A Blessing, A Pearl, features tender prose and an eclectic ensemble of woodwinds, strings, and synths.

On July 23rd at DROM, Jessica will be joined by Jaash Singh; a multi award-winning percussionist, specializing in folk music and dance accompaniment. The pair recently connected at a music residency among the mountains of Banff, Alberta, and have since assembled a dreamy set of acoustic folk music for your listening pleasure!

Two Families Band is a dynamic musical ensemble offering a wide array of concert performances, tailored programs, event musical arrangements, and music lessons for both children and adults. Comprised of seasoned professional musicians originally from Ukraine, the band brings a wealth of experience from performing in clubs, restaurants, hotels, and cruise ships. They boast an extensive repertoire encompassing classical music, jazz, blues, folk, rock and roll, and more, performed in multiple languages. 

Since relocating to Canada, Two Families Band has given numerous solo concerts and participated in prestigious events such as the Niagara Jazz Festival, Dundas Cactus Festival, Toronto Ukrainian Festival, Niagara Music Festival, Hamilton “Music and Motion,” “It’s Your Festival,” and the CMCTV Talent Show.
