WEDNESDAY

BATTLE OF SANTIAGO
8.00

Juno Award nominee Battle of Santiago combines ancient Afro-Cuban rhythms and chants with a distinctly Canadian post-rock spirit and sensibility. Fused by dynamic elements of jazz, funk, electronic, and rock, the result is a dance party-forward experience that has brought them to stages across the globe in Canada, the Europe, and Latin America. Their unique sound tells a universal 21st Century story of blending borders, and cultures, while trying to stay rooted in our own experiences.

PAUL KOLINSKI (Heavy on the Willie)
11.30

Paul Kolinski is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter and interpreter of old songs. He plays around the city with his band, Heavy on the Willie, at The Cameron House, Tranzac, and elsewhere. His music is old feeling moonlight soul and starry-eyed country, biking through back alleys and reaching out to lost friends, standing in the doorway and watching the fireflies, marvelling over rare things. Paul’s influences are varied and many, not least his many talented friends, whose songs he often covers.
